Found on land - central Florida - Two specimens .. 2 1/4in. long each ...with bases a speck over 1 1/2in. .. very nice bend to the crown on both however the lower piece has a more pronounced inward bend .. these are presented as upper and lower teeth however i think they are both lower as the base of the upper specimen is usually wider with a faster taper to the tip .. although this may be just an upper from a a much larger shark ... this Isurus hastalis is the predecessor to the present day mako and became extinct approx. 12 million years ago.. ageing the teeth is difficult and a close guess would be 28 to 12 million years .. a friend asked my assistance for auctioning and i have not taken them off of the mounting as is her wish .. so i don't know what the backs look like .. but what i can see looks very nice with a small amount of concretion visable on the lower specimens' base ... FREE S&H WITHIN THE U.S. ONLY, PLEASE.....I'll ship anywhere but the shipping cost is always more when the package goes outside the States...If you are concerned about a package getting lost in the mail, insure it, insurance is not automatic .....Pay-pal or MO preferred but other payment methods er listed......... Thanks ![]() | |
