This is a wonderful fossil. Here is a true midge trapped within a  piece of Baltic amber. Note the fine preservation of the antenna. Makes a wonderful addition to any collection. Insect display fantastic preservation. Amber was formed millions of years ago when resin from a primitive species of pine, Pinus succinifera was buried and began to fossilize. Insect inclusions are extremely rare, and found in a small percentage of ancient amber. Successful bidder to pay $5.95 for shipping and insurance.
