Balticamber is afossil resinderived from extinct coniferous trees, Pinites succiniferand/or Pseudolarixsp. It was formedduring the Eocene and Early Oligocene,35-40 millionyears ago. Insects, other animals, and plant material, trapped inthe resin, became perfectly preserved in amber, and represent rarespecies, most of which are currently extinct.
Amber specimens present a tremendous interest forscientific study, and, thanks to their natural beauty, have a great aesthetic value.
