Direct from Simojovel, Chiapas, a beautiful raw piece of cognac Mexican amber. The color in this one is fantastic, almost red. Please have a look and the photos and feel free to ask questions. Weight is 30.6 grams.

The amber is between 22-26 million years old, dating from the Miocene to Oligocene Epochs, and is derived from the Hymenaea tree – the same responsible for the amber deposits in the Dominican Republic. However, unlike Dominican amber, Mexican amber is slightly harder and exhibits a richer range of color.

Please note, we are currently in Mexico, not in Kentucky as stated in the auction. Shipping by registered mail to the USA and Canada will be $6. Registered mail to the rest of the world is $8. For DHL express to the USA, $35. For express service to the rest of the world, please inquire about the actual rate. For combined shipping, pay for shipping for the first item, and pay $2 for each additional item.

Also, since we are close to the mines, we would like to offer to those that would like to acquire special pieces or place larger orders a chance to make requests. Just let us know what you are looking for, and we will find it.
