Dominican fossil amber is known for the clarity of its inclusions including such things as insects, arachnids, and botanicals.  This unique, polished piececontains a gall midge that was in the process of laying eggs into the resin that eventually became amber!  Three distinct eggs can be seen; insects laying eggs in amber is a rare find.  The insect can be easily seen at arm's length. The piece itself weighs 1.3 grams and has approximate dimensions of 1.5 cm length, 1 cm width, and 1 cm height.  I hand-sand and fully polish the majority of amber pieces I offer, this piece from rough originating from La Cumbre Mine, the Dominican Republic.

I only sell genuine, all-natural, non-heat treated, reconstituted, or color enhanced amber.  Please note that the majority ofDominican amber is not fossiliferous as this piece is.  This piece could be used as a specimen or in a piece of jewelry.  I also offer rare Dominican blue amber specimens, and cherry red Chiapas amber for sale.  Thank you for your consideration.  This amber will ship worldwide at $4.00 U.S.  I will combine items to save on shipping for up to a 10 day period.  NO INTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDERS PLEASE.
