Listed for sale is a beautiful Anchisauripus dinosaur track from theEarly Jurassic (~200 million year old) Portland Formation of Granby, Massachusetts.  Anchisauripus tracks were made by small- tomedium-sized theropod (carnivorous) dinosaurs, such as Coelophysis.

This track, which is preserved as a natural cast (the sediment that filled the original print and turned to stone, not a man-made reproduction) measures 6.4 inches long by 3.6inches wide.  The track is a maximum of 0.2 inches tall.  With such relief it was not necessary to highlight this track with paint in order for it to stand out.  It will show up beautifully under low angle light.  This print faithfully preserves the toe pads of the middle digit and claw impressions.  The claw impressions are substantial, measuring up to 0.73 inches long.  Also preserved are the metatarsal-phalangeal pads at the joint where the long bones of the foot meet the toes.  Often the metatarsal-phalangeal pad does not impress in dinosaur footprints, so this track is rather unique.  The location of the metatarsal-phalangeal pad and the slight curvature of the middle digit indicate that the print was made by the animal's right foot.

The track is preserved on aslab of gray micaceous sandstone measuring 7.3 by 4.9 inches.
