Up for auction we have a large, 98 gram piece of rough Borneo amber. This is the famous Amber from Sarawak, Malaysia, specifically, the island of Borneo. This amber is dated to the Miocene, 15 to 17 million years old.  This amber is found in a coal seam.  Size of specimen is 3.48" long by 2.12" wide by 1.60" thick.  Specimen is shown wet , so you can see the nice color of the amber. I priced amber again this year (2008) at the Fossil Show in Tucson Arizona and it averaged more then $1 a gram.  So, you do the math. This piece will start out at a bargain price.
