This amber specimen comes from the mines of SimojovelChiapas, Mexico.  Chiapas Amber is thought to be between 20 and 30 million years old and originates from the hymaneae protera tree.  This specimen was hand polished in our workshop in Taxco, Mexico.  The specimen weighs 16 grams and measures 1.75 inch long by 1.25  inches wide by 1 inches thick.  In the light of the sun, the piece appears Yellow with green flourecence , held agains the sun the piece appears yellow green, The piece is completely polished clean of inclusions or cracks, it does show some red surface color.For more amber specimen as well as amber in silver jewelry, see our ebay store, if you have any question or special request contact us. # 53 specimens
